Our Story
Vostego started with a simple realization: whether you want to climb the ladder or build your own ladder, you need expert guidance—but trustworthy, actionable information is hard to find.
Too often, essential guidance on careers, finance, and operations is either locked behind expensive consultant fees, hidden in academic textbooks, or wrapped up in marketing fluff that doesn't feel human.
Ian was lucky—he's had amazing mentors who've helped him navigate the complexities of building a sustainable career and business. But many people don't have that benefit. He built Vostego to share the lessons he's learned and to help others avoid the mistakes he's made.
This isn't a platform for false promises. It's written by someone who's still learning how to make this work, for people doing the same. No fake community metrics. No overselling. Just real experience, hard-won lessons, and a commitment to practical, actionable advice.
About the Founder
Ian Sherr
Senior editorial and stakeholder engagement leader with 15+ years of experience shaping thought leadership, executive programs, and public discourse at the intersection of business, technology, policy, and social impact.
Ian has advised senior leaders and organizations on strategy, operations, and public positioning across media, compliance, and policy. He's led editorial vision at CNET and Reuters, scaled operations as Editor-in-Chief and President, and regularly contributes analysis to CBS News, BBC, and CNN.
Most importantly: He realized that professionals and small business owners face the same strategic challenges—but without access to the mentorship and resources he's been fortunate to have. He struggled to find trustworthy, actionable guidance when he moved into consulting and solo work himself.
He's still learning how to make it work, and he's building Vostego to help others doing the same.
