Alright so I’ve been working out for a week now, it’s been rough. I’ve been pretty tired or sore most days, and just all around grumpy. I’ve managed to keep it up though, but I switched to doing it every other day instead of every day. Not sure what I should do about that, maybe once I get more in shape I’ll move to every day. I haven't made much progress yet, but it’s only been a week, I don’t expect it to happen that fast.

I’ve read some things telling me I should try to adjust my diet, and fuck that. While I’m sure I could lose weight quicker and all that, I’m just not going to bother with that. For one, I’m a very picky eater, so most food I just won't eat. Another thing is, counting calories and checking nutrition of everything, that’s way too much effort. I’m just going to eat the same way and keep working out.

So I’m not feeling that great today. Like I’m just tired and my legs hurt. I think it was a mistake to work out on Monday because yesterday I had to do a bunch of walking. So I think till I get used to things, I’m not going to work out every day. Start out slow and just do every other day, seems like a good way to start. I think another issue is that I haven't taken my pills for about a week, and they kinda make you sleepy. Normally it takes you two weeks to get used to it, but since I was only off them for a week, I hope my body will adjust fast.

Oh also, yesterday sucked kinda. I had to go to the doctors so I could get my plasma stuff figured out. I left at about noon-thirty and got there at 2:15, my appointment was at 3pm, thanks public transportation. I didn’t get called until 3:15, then I just sat in a room alone for half an hour. Then the doctor came in with the paper the plasma place faxed over and just sat there reading it. He then asked me if I was bipolar and who prescribed my meds. Uhh… you did?

So I noticed my twitter was exploding with something about someone named DeVos, no idea who this person was so did a bit of googling, and holy shit. From what I can tell, she doesn’t like public education, and would rather push tax money towards vouchers that you can use to help pay for private school or charters.So I guess uhh… Rip public school?

I tried to look up some things and couldn’t really find much yet. Like will these vouchers pay for everything? Will public schools just go away? Will the government manage any of these private schools or charters? Jeez what the fuck is going on? If the vouchers don’t pay for everything, what will they do for poor children who can’t afford to pay the rest? Will they pay for homeschooling?

So I think I’m going to switch up my schedule again. I want to start having fun playing games and working out eats a chunk of my morning up too. So here is the plan, starting on Wednesday, tomorrow I have to go to the doctors and it’s about 2 hours away with public transportation. I’m going to try to wake up early, around 9 or 10am. After I fully wake up, eat something, then I’ll go work out, come shower and write a daily blog post. Then I’ll do some game dev stream, write about it. Then at night I’ll do whatever sounds fun. I’m going to try to stream games more.

Why the change? Well I think it would just work out better if I have a more stable schedule, instead of just going to bed when I feel like it and sleeping for 10 hours. I think it will be rough for the first week or so, but I think it will be better for me in the long run. Also this will make it so I can try to start streaming working on my game at a more consistent time.

Before we get onto the main topic of today, something I should cover first. So yesterday on the blog I said we were going to go see lego batman, turns out it doesn’t come out till next week. Somehow both of my roommates didn’t notice the date was next week, oh well. Since we were out we ended up going to Dr. Strange at a dollar theater. It was alright, some of the humor felt really forced though.

Alright, that out of the way, let’s get onto the main subject: Working out. So I’ve been thinking about working out for the last week or so, and decided to start today. I just want to lose a little weight and put on a little muscle. I don’t want to get skinny, and I’m fine being a little chubby, but I need to scale things back a little bit from what I’m at currently. My wife would get upset if I didn’t stay a little fat, cause I’m a good pillow, apparently.

Okay, first off, not my fault I didn’t post yesterday. My website was down all day because of my hosting company. Not a big deal I have pretty good uptime, a day every 6 months or so is not that big of a deal when I’m not paying that much. Anyways I got to hang out with my wife today, so that was fun. We ended up going bowling and had our kid with us.

So blah blah blah, stuff in my life happened, nothing important, let’s talk about something fun instead: nihilism! There are a few different types of nihilism, but I mostly want to talk about existential nihilism. This is the idea that life has no intrinsic meaning or value. For this, let’s just assume there is not an afterlife, well at least one that doesn’t depend on your life. With that out of the way, I would like to put forward the statement that nothing you do matters, and you have no inherent goal in life. Don’t worry it’s a good thing.

Okay let’s go over the first thing, nothing you do matters. Let’s start small scale. Such as an average person who isn’t an outlier in really anything. Clearly nothing they do matters, they are a replaceable person to the world. Sure to their family or friends they matter, but to the world they don’t. Let’s also say they don’t give birth to anyone of importance either. If that person was never born, the world would not be very much different. Their family and friends would have someone else in their life.

Oh, I forgot to post yesterday. Oh well, my bad. So on Monday I went to go try to donate plasma like I said, it didn’t work out very well. Because I’m bipolar and I’m taking meds they have to contact my doctor before I can donate. Not only do they have to contact my doctor, but they have to check with the on site doctor as well, and I guess he only works there Tuesday and Friday. The nurse said he would call me yesterday if I’m able to donate or not, so I guess I have to wait till Friday. Kinda sucks I could've used some money.

The person who was setting up my file was pretty cool though. She was some older lady who was really nice. She told me about a promotion I could use that would get me 50 dollars for my first 5 donations, so that’s awesome. Oh and at this place they give you 20/40 bucks every time, 20 for the first time in a week and 40 for the second time in a week. Not too bad. Also I thought about it and the first time I donate I’m going to buy that music licenses for monsterCat.

Alright, going to go donate plasma today. It’s only a 45 minute walk away so that shouldn’t be too bad, but it is a little chilly out so that might suck. I know the first thing I’m going to buy is a little external battery for my cell phone. When I broke my foot then later when my computer died I sat on my phone pretty much all day with it plugged it and basically ruined the battery life. There might be a way to fix it, but whatever. I checked and batteries are only like 15-20 bucks.

If you haven't donated plasma before I would recommend it. The first visit takes a while because they make you do a physical, but afterwards it’s only about an hour or two for 20-40 bucks depending on where you go. It’s kinda bullshit that companies that take blood don’t pay at all when they mostly just sell it to other companies. I guess if the blood place was making almost no profit on my blood I’d be more willing to do it. But I’m not going to give them it for free if they are just going to turn around at sell it.

Alright, game night last night was pretty fun. Getting drunk with friends and playing silly games, kinda hard to not be fun. Some of the games we played: Villages, Bang! The Dice Game, and Joking Hazard. They are all pretty fun but I think I enjoyed Joking Hazard the most. It’s by the guys who did Cyanide and Happiness, and it plays a lot like Cards Against Humanity. But instead you are building three strip comics with cards. Maybe it’s because I’ve played a ton of Cards Against Humanity so it’s become dull, but Joking Hazard was way more fun.

Also yesterday I was able to go to my wife’s house and pick up some stuff I needed, so Monday I can go donate plasma. It will be nice to have a little money for food and e-juice. Not going to be fun walking about an hour there and back, mainly heading back after donating. At least they give you some juice to drink to rehydrate you. They say you can earn about 260 a month, that seems a little high, but who knows, I could use like 60 bucks a week. I guess we will see next week!
