So I havn’t been working out as much as I have wanted. But the reason why is because I have been walking a fit amount. I guess that’s good enough. To go donate plasma alone, that’s a 40 minute walk one way, and I do that twice a week. Then the vape shop is about 40 minutes away, in the other direction, and I do that once or twice a week. I’ll admit I don’t want to work out, it’s not very fun. Also I’ll admit I only worked out once last week. I didn’t want to work out the day of or before donating plasma.

Well whatever I still feel like I'm making some progress, better than nothing. Also I have put on a little weight, maybe 5ish pounds. I think that’s because I’m eating more cause I’m exercising. Maybe I should try working out for longer, and just walk slower, that way I burn more fat instead of just working off my current energy supplies. I don’t know. But it is kinda fun trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

So yesterday I went over how I did the pathfinding. Today, I got that all ironed out, added some animations for walking, and tweaked a few other things. So I'll be covering in detail how I got animations working, but let's quickly go over some other things I did. So I got selecting units with function keys to work, I basically copied over the code from before, so nothing new there. Also I got it so instead of having to click the sprite to target, you can also click on the little unit display. Figured it would be nice to be able to also click something that isn't moving.
Alright, finally got that music licensing, so I don't have to mess around with finding music any more. Granted if you have some music you would like me to use, let me know. So today, I mostly worked on getting pathfinding working for the crew combat stuff. I did some other things, but the bulk of it was pathfinding. I also got some of the crew display stuff working for the crew combat section and got selecting working. selecting here works more or less the same as the ship on ship combat.

Before we jump into code, let's go over how I did it. Pathfinding might be a wrong term. Honestly I didn't want to deal with it. I knew I didn't want a grid system set up, so that limited what I could do in a reasonable time frame. At first I didn't want anyone to overlap anyone else, but I ended up changing my mind. What happens now is when you target something, a dude will walk at them, once they get within range they will circle around the guy till there is no overlapping dudes.
Alright so I’ve been working out for a week now, it’s been rough. I’ve been pretty tired or sore most days, and just all around grumpy. I’ve managed to keep it up though, but I switched to doing it every other day instead of every day. Not sure what I should do about that, maybe once I get more in shape I’ll move to every day. I haven't made much progress yet, but it’s only been a week, I don’t expect it to happen that fast.

I’ve read some things telling me I should try to adjust my diet, and fuck that. While I’m sure I could lose weight quicker and all that, I’m just not going to bother with that. For one, I’m a very picky eater, so most food I just won't eat. Another thing is, counting calories and checking nutrition of everything, that’s way too much effort. I’m just going to eat the same way and keep working out.

Alright first time working in a few days, feels good! I didn't get as much done as I wanted because I'm not feeling very good today, but hey, progress is progress. So Mostly what I did today was get some art in place. This art is just temporary, just to help show what things should be instead of squares. I got the little pirate animation from here
. For the button and burlap sheet, I just googled something and pulled it off that.
So I’m not feeling that great today. Like I’m just tired and my legs hurt. I think it was a mistake to work out on Monday because yesterday I had to do a bunch of walking. So I think till I get used to things, I’m not going to work out every day. Start out slow and just do every other day, seems like a good way to start. I think another issue is that I haven't taken my pills for about a week, and they kinda make you sleepy. Normally it takes you two weeks to get used to it, but since I was only off them for a week, I hope my body will adjust fast.

Oh also, yesterday sucked kinda. I had to go to the doctors so I could get my plasma stuff figured out. I left at about noon-thirty and got there at 2:15, my appointment was at 3pm, thanks public transportation. I didn’t get called until 3:15, then I just sat in a room alone for half an hour. Then the doctor came in with the paper the plasma place faxed over and just sat there reading it. He then asked me if I was bipolar and who prescribed my meds. Uhh… you did?
So I noticed my twitter was exploding with something about someone named DeVos, no idea who this person was so did a bit of googling, and holy shit. From what I can tell, she doesn’t like public education, and would rather push tax money towards vouchers that you can use to help pay for private school or charters.So I guess uhh… Rip public school?

I tried to look up some things and couldn’t really find much yet. Like will these vouchers pay for everything? Will public schools just go away? Will the government manage any of these private schools or charters? Jeez what the fuck is going on? If the vouchers don’t pay for everything, what will they do for poor children who can’t afford to pay the rest? Will they pay for homeschooling?
So I think I’m going to switch up my schedule again. I want to start having fun playing games and working out eats a chunk of my morning up too. So here is the plan, starting on Wednesday, tomorrow I have to go to the doctors and it’s about 2 hours away with public transportation. I’m going to try to wake up early, around 9 or 10am. After I fully wake up, eat something, then I’ll go work out, come shower and write a daily blog post. Then I’ll do some game dev stream, write about it. Then at night I’ll do whatever sounds fun. I’m going to try to stream games more.

Why the change? Well I think it would just work out better if I have a more stable schedule, instead of just going to bed when I feel like it and sleeping for 10 hours. I think it will be rough for the first week or so, but I think it will be better for me in the long run. Also this will make it so I can try to start streaming working on my game at a more consistent time.
Before we get onto the main topic of today, something I should cover first. So yesterday on the blog I said we were going to go see lego batman, turns out it doesn’t come out till next week. Somehow both of my roommates didn’t notice the date was next week, oh well. Since we were out we ended up going to Dr. Strange at a dollar theater. It was alright, some of the humor felt really forced though.

Alright, that out of the way, let’s get onto the main subject: Working out. So I’ve been thinking about working out for the last week or so, and decided to start today. I just want to lose a little weight and put on a little muscle. I don’t want to get skinny, and I’m fine being a little chubby, but I need to scale things back a little bit from what I’m at currently. My wife would get upset if I didn’t stay a little fat, cause I’m a good pillow, apparently.

Okay, first off, not my fault I didn’t post yesterday. My website was down all day because of my hosting company. Not a big deal I have pretty good uptime, a day every 6 months or so is not that big of a deal when I’m not paying that much. Anyways I got to hang out with my wife today, so that was fun. We ended up going bowling and had our kid with us.
